This site is dedicated to the beautiful island in the Baltic Sea - Saaremaa!

Saaremaa is interesting not only for its isolation from the mainland of Estonia. On the island, you can just relax, engage in fishing, swim in the sea, see the local sights, visit the medieval castle, etc. And most importantly you cannot break away from civilization. Civilization is just two steps away from you.

During the Second World War, due to its geographical position, Saaremaa had enormous strategic importance. In the end of hostilities, the island had been an isolated military zone for many years.

The site was conceived as a non-profit project. All users, who send their stories to the site or the photos, do it for free. I, in turn, guarantee that all submitted materials used by me on this site are not sold in any publication or broadcast anywhere except this site.

Photographers, who send their photos, can write me a letter asking to place their contact details on the Contacts page. I will do it.

Copying and further use of textual materials from the site, for any purpose, is only possible when you specify the author of the story and a required active link to this resource.

The using of the photo-works, located on this site, is possible only with the written permission of the author (photographer). The photographer’s contact details can be found on the "Contact Us" page or you can write to me via the "Feedback form".
